JOHANNESBURG - SA Rugby has threatened legal action against several travel agencies following widespread complaints of ticket chaos ahead of Springboks home Tests.
The governing body said it had received numerous reports of fans being sold invalid tickets, double-booked seats, and inflated prices by unauthorized third-party agencies.


SA Rugby warned that it is working with legal teams and law enforcement to investigate the matter and will take action against any agency found to be defrauding supporters.

"We are aware of the issues affecting fans trying to purchase tickets through certain travel agencies and we take this very seriously," SA Rugby said in a statement. "Fans are urged to only buy tickets from official SA Rugby and Ticketpro channels."

The controversy comes as demand for Springboks tickets has surged, with upcoming matches including the highly anticipated Test against the All Blacks at Cape Town Stadium.

SA Rugby confirmed that supporters who purchased tickets through unofficial channels may not be granted entry to stadiums.

Fans who believe they have been affected have been asked to contact SA Rugby directly with proof of purchase.
