BREAKING Publish: US Forces Strike Iranian Oil Tankers After Missile Attack on Carrier

WASHINGTON: U.S. forces "permanently disabled" two Iranian oil tankers and "completely destroyed" another after Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps launched ballistic missiles toward an American aircraft carrier and destroyer, U.S. Central Command said in a statement.

According to CENTCOM, the Iranian missiles targeted U.S. naval assets operating in the region. In response, American forces carried out strikes that took out three Iranian oil tankers linked to the Revolutionary Guard.

The Pentagon called the retaliation a "defensive action" to protect U.S. personnel and deter further attacks.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran have spiked sharply in recent days. No casualties among U.S. forces have been reported so far.

The situation remains fluid and officials warn of possible further escalation in the Gulf region.
