 UK Health Secretary Yvette Cooper announced plans for "cot cams" - video baby monitors  - in NHS neonatal units.

This follows the Thirlwall Inquiry into baby deaths at Countess of Chester Hospital, where nurse Lucy Letby was convicted. The inquiry found staff failed to act on warnings and said some deaths could have been prevented.

Cooper said she is "profoundly sorry" and will urgently develop cot cams to improve safety and help parents stay connected to babies.

Other recommendations include tighter insulin controls and better safeguarding training.
