Consumer group Which? has revealed it listed 10 Downing Street as a holiday rental on Booking.com as part of a test of the platform's listing checks.

The group even posted a fake review for the famous UK Prime Minister's residence before the page was taken down by the booking site.

Which? said the experiment was designed to highlight weaknesses in how online travel platforms verify properties and reviews. The listing for the iconic government building at the heart of UK politics was live long enough to be seen publicly.

Booking.com removed the fake listing after Which? flagged it. The company has not yet commented on what changes it will make to prevent similar listings in the future.

The stunt has sparked discussion about online fraud, fake reviews, and the need for stronger checks on rental platforms.
