Sheeran addressed the controversy on stage Saturday night at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia , his first show since the row erupted. "This week, criticism was about something much more important and I've had to take and make difficult decisions and I am making mistakes, and I'm so, so sorry," Sheeran told the crowd before performing. Macklemore was removed from the US dates of Sheeran's Loop Tour after shouting "Free Palestine" and accusing Israel of genocide during his set at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey earlier this month. Buckingham Palace has issued a rare and angry rebuttal to claims about King Charles IlI's reaction to Princess Diana's death.

The claims are in a new book 'Swan Song: Diana, My Sister' by Diana's brother Charles Spencer, being serialised in the Daily Mail ahead of publication next week.

Spencer alleges that on the night Diana died in a car crash in Paris in 1997, the then-Prince Charles sounded "giddily elated - like a lottery winner" on the phone.

He also claims that days later, Charles told him in anger: "Rest assured, we'll forget her soon enough," after Spencer insisted Diana would not have wanted Princes William and Harry to walk behind her coffin.

Buckingham Palace said: "While we do not comment on books as a matter of principle, His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory in ways others do not recognise, even many years after such a loss."

Spencer responded to the Palace, saying "Those are exactly the words he said."
