Sheeran addressed the controversy on stage Saturday night at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia , his first show since the row erupted. "This week, criticism was about something much more important and I've had to take and make difficult decisions and I am making mistakes, and I'm so, so sorry," Sheeran told the crowd before performing. Macklemore was removed from the US dates of Sheeran's Loop Tour after shouting "Free Palestine" and accusing Israel of genocide during his set at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey earlier this month. The 21-year-old scrumhalf, who starred for the Junior Springboks with six tries as they won the World Rugby U20 Championship, has been at the centre of a weeks-long transfer saga.

The Stormers had walked away from a deal after the Lions demanded a record transfer fee for Pead, who is contracted until 2028. Director of Rugby John Dobson had called the reported figures "complete hogwash."

But in a spectacular U-turn, reports now confirm a deal has been reached. Pead is expected to join the Stormers after their European tour and could debut against the Sharks in Cape Town on October 10.

The Cape Town-born Bishops old boy from Bo-Kaap wants more game time. He faces competition at the Lions from Springbok Morné van den Berg, while the Stormers need depth after Imad Khan's serious knee injury and with Cobus Reinach aged 36.
