Sheeran addressed the controversy on stage Saturday night at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia , his first show since the row erupted. "This week, criticism was about something much more important and I've had to take and make difficult decisions and I am making mistakes, and I'm so, so sorry," Sheeran told the crowd before performing. Macklemore was removed from the US dates of Sheeran's Loop Tour after shouting "Free Palestine" and accusing Israel of genocide during his set at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey earlier this month. US President Donald Trump has announced he is banning CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House, accusing them of reporting "fake news."

"Media outlets shouldn't be able to constantly write or report fiction and lies when they're covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America," Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday, September 18.

Trump said the ban is effective immediately and warned "Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow." When asked which others, he named The New York Times and The Washington Post.

The White House followed through on Saturday morning, denying access to journalists and confiscating press passes. Reporters from all three outlets said they were told their badges were "disabled."

CNN called it "an illegal assault" on its First Amendment rights, while MS NOW and Politico said they will defend their rights and continue reporting.

Trump said there was no single story that triggered the ban, calling it "cumulative stories over the last few years" and said "I don't want them in my office. I don't want them here."

Legal experts say the ban is almost certain to face court challenges over First Amendment protections for a free press.
